Our mission is to foster FUN conversations while we learn more about the field we all love!

The Baker Girls

We may be cousins, but we grew up like sisters! We both were a little nerdy, and now looking back at our paths up to this point, we’ve done a lot of the same things. All of that has lead us to today. We get to work together! As the oldest cousin, Cat says “we’re bookending the family with behavior analysis!” We definitely have fun together, and we aim to bring that fun into the podcast and share our shared love of behavior analysis with all of you!

Who would have thought that these to cuties would grow up to have a podcast together!

About Dr. Cat

Cat spent most of her life being trying to meet unrealistic expectations — high achieving, hardworking, and very good at looking like she had everything together. Behind the gold stars and people-pleasing, though, she was quietly struggling with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and the exhausting pressure to constantly prove herself.

After years of believing she just needed to “try harder,” Cat eventually realized she wasn’t lazy or broken — she was navigating life with a brain that worked differently, without the tools to understand it. That shift changed everything.

Now, with four degrees, a deep love of learning, and a passion for helping kids who feel they don’t fit in “the box,” Cat is dedicated to helping others build confidence, resilience, and self-trust earlier than she did. She brings honesty, humor, and lived experience to conversations about neurodivergence, burnout, perfectionism, and what it really means to succeed without losing yourself in the process.

Her mission is simple: different brains aren’t broken — they’re just often misunderstood. Understanding leads to change!

About Tory

Tory didn’t originally plan on working in behavior analysis. With a background in finance and plans for a more traditional business career, she unexpectedly found herself helping a cousin open a clinic — assuming she’d be handling operations and logistics. Instead, she became fascinated by behavior, problem-solving, and the science behind why people do what they do.

What started as an unexpected detour quickly became a career grounded in curiosity, humility, and a passion for helping underserved populations. From working in a facility school in Denver to supporting individuals with severe behavior needs, Tory developed a deep respect for how complex and individualized human behavior really is.

That path eventually led her to the New England Center for Children, where she earned her Master’s degree and worked across intensive treatment, residential care, research, and leadership roles. Those experiences reinforced what first drew her to the field: while behavior principles may be consistent, real clinical work is nuanced, deeply human, and rarely one-size-fits-all.

On the podcast, Tory brings a practical, thoughtful perspective that bridges newer and seasoned clinicians alike. Her approach is conversational, grounded, and focused on making complex ideas accessible, relatable, and actually useful in the real world.
